Saturday, October 19,12 pm-12:45 pm, 1:10pm-2pm, 2:15pm-3pm, and 4pm-4:45pm “Stir a Memory” is an immersive auditory and olfactory experience that stirs memories and creates new memories. Krina Patel (Midway Artist) collaborates with artists and a flavorist to create this participatory event that includes aromas accompanied by a soundscape designed to evoke memories of seasons past. The event invites conversations about how memories and emotions are constructed by our experiences. Sunday, October 20, 2pm-3pm Sharon Montella, Hip Hop Ballerina and Kung Fu Artist, and Amy Nguyen, textile artist and movement and meditation teacher, will demonstrate various styles of tai chi and martial arts. After the demonstration, there will be the opportunity for the audience to participate with the artists.

In collaboration with Midway Studios, Conceptual Type students (led by Midway Artist and Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, Kristen Mallia) present two stairwell poster activations at Midway during Open Studios. Explore the stairwells to view these original poster designs showcasing experimental typography inspired by the Midway spaces, community, and the Fort Point neighborhood.
